Frequently asked questions
Is 24 inch spacing acceptable?
Yes for many non-load-bearing and advanced-framing walls, and it saves lumber, but check your local code and use 5/8 in drywall to avoid waviness.
How many plates do I need?
One bottom plate and two top plates along the full wall length, so about three times the wall run in plate stock.
