Frequently asked questions
Why did the race coefficient go?
The 2021 CKD-EPI refit removed it because race is a social, not biological, variable and its use delayed care for Black patients.
Is eGFR alone enough to diagnose CKD?
No. CKD requires reduced eGFR or kidney damage markers such as albuminuria persisting over three months.
