Frequently asked questions
What is an accrual cap?
A ceiling on your balance — once you hit it you stop earning leave until you take some. It is common in states that require payout of unused leave.
Does unused PTO get paid out?
It depends on the jurisdiction and policy. In several US states accrued vacation is treated as earned wages and must be paid when you leave.
